BTW it’s not my grievance but of a greater public and GHMC while GHMC is supposed to be concerned about such indecent and ugly nuisance causing acts of some select Pet Owners/People from the same greater public whose welfare is safeguarded by GHMC in case of certain public (civic) amenities provided. So, there’s no meaning in closing the Grievance raised in the interest of greater public/GHMC just like that without taking any action at all while I thought this good old meaningless practice (closing Grievance with ZERO action taken) by GHMC was stopped long ago. Also, there’s no point in struggling to contact the person (here me Ravindra Talatam who raised the Grievance) by any concerned GHMC Official (Mr. Sai) since it does not serve any purpose in this kind of Grievance(s) raised and instead GHMC should draw a plan of action to first do its own homework and then take certain measures as needed to end this ugly and unhealthy practice of certain Pet Owners not just in our Jawaharnagar Colony but also in various colonies around. For example, today (31 Dec’24) morning at 09:15AM while walking thru one of the Streets in adjoining APIIC colony (bylane to APIIC Coly. Main St. where a DTR is there on left side right at the starting point), I found a Pet Owner allowing defecation by his dog right in the middle of the St. and going away just like that which was silently witnessed by GHMC Staff working in the same St. (picking up and collecting Garbage heaps into a truck). I stopped a while and asked both the Staff (Mr. Keshav and Ms. Padma) particularly Mr. Keshav why they were just keeping quite without telling the Pet owner that per laws it should not be done like so on public roads/streets to which he answered that “what can we say and do, sir, they are big people” on which I said it's also your responsibility to politely remind and caution that as per GHMC guidelines/laws it’s not allowed on public streets. I also said to him (Mr. Keshav) that there’s nobody big or small in these matters on which he said hereafter he would try to tell when witnessed. So, from this incident GHMC can take a clue to draw a PLAN of action like: 1) First, educate all Cleaning Staff members like I educated those TWO people and instruct them to educate the select pet owners from time to time who are doing this kind of ugly and unhealthy practices. 2) If possible (if funds permit), arrange to erect Warning SIGN Boards at certain points on certain streets cautioning Pet Owners not to resort to this kind of Practice which could otherwise attract heavy penalties ranging from ...to...as per law. 3) GHMC also can make announcements over SPEAKERS on a Mobile Auto cautioning Pet Owners about this practice just like TSSPDCL has been periodically cautioning about disconnection of electricity supply for consumers with overdue Electricity Bill Payments.4) Likewise any other ideas that GHMC considers deemed suitable. That’s all from my side while rest is left to the good discretion of GHMC/Concerned Officials at the helm of affairs, but no point in bothering to try to call me or meet with me.
